Manpreet works as a researcher in our lab. She holds experience in the area of production of plant-based vaccines and the development of paper-based biosensor platforms for the detection of food-borne pathogens.

Kwon joined our lab in 2016 as Ph.D. student. He works on fungal protein production on fermentation process wastewater.

Wachiranon Chuenchart is a Ph.D. candidate of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa (US). He received his MEng in Environmental Engineering and Management from the Asian Institute of Technology (Thailand), where he was awarded the Queen’s scholarship. He is working on applying machine learning for microaeration in anaerobic co-digestion of food waste and sewage sludge.
Research interests: anaerobic digestion, co-digestion, microaeration, machine learning, modeling, bioenergy

KYLE RAFAEL MARCELINO

Kyle is a Civil and Environmental Engineering Ph.D student. He received his MS in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the UH Man. He is a research assistant examining nanobubble technology and other agritech.
Research interests: nanobubbles, nanoparticles, nitrogen recovery, aquaponics

TY SHITANAKA

Ty is a M.S. student in the Molecular Biosciences and Bioengineering department. As a former high school teacher, he enjoys interacting with students and is involved in programs such as GENE-ius Day and James Campbell High School STEM Enrichment. In his spare time, he likes to garden, fish, and read.

MUZAMMIL KHAN

Muzammil Khan is a graduate student at Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa (US). He received his MS in Process Systems Engineering from the National University of Sciences and Technology (Pakistan). His research targets on machine learning aided modeling and optimization of anaerobic digestion process.
Research interests: anaerobic digestion, co-digestion, thermochemical conversion, machine learning, modeling and simulation

SHREEJA LOPCHAN LAMA

Shreeja is a MS student at the Department of Molecular Biosciences and Bioengineering. She received her undergraduate degree in Environmental Engineering from Kathmandu University. She is working to develop an integrated NB-biochar aquaponics system.
Research interests: aquaponics, biochar, nanobubble technology, water treatment and management.
